A colleague sends one
Your manager or a teammate nominates you and picks an amount. Approvals route automatically when one is needed.
Congratulations
When a colleague sends you an award, you choose the brand — coffee, groceries, a flight, or the whole value straight to charity. It's yours to spend, and nothing comes out of your pay.
Awards are issued by your reward provider. Card details are held by the issuer, never by Total Reward Benefits.
From your team

The award appears against your name with the note the sender wrote. You'll get an email at your work address.
Browse the catalog and pick what suits you. The issuer creates the card straight away and it stays in your account.

Before you click
Gift card offers are a common disguise for phishing. Real award notices are easy to tell apart once you know the pattern.
If a message claiming to come from this program asks for any of the above, don't reply and don't click. Report it to the security team and delete it.
Good to know

Usually yes — recognition awards are treated as taxable income and appear on your pay statement. Payroll handles withholding automatically, so there's nothing for you to file separately.
You have 90 days to choose a brand. After that the card follows the issuing brand's own terms — most don't expire, though a few do.
No. Once a brand is selected the card is issued and the transaction is final, so pick carefully.
Unclaimed awards are cancelled on your last day. Cards you've already chosen are yours and stay in your account.
